Maryland’s job gains continue in June
Maryland added 5,600 total jobs in June, including 3,900 in the private sector, according to monthly data released recently by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics. The growth rate last month (0.2%) was double the national rate (0.1%). Frederick, MD — Local Daily Media has filed a $4.275 million deal to buy “Free Country 99.9” WFRE and “Free Talk 930” WFMD from Connoisseur Media. Local Daily Media already owns four stations in Virginia and North Carolina, as well as the online newspapers Williamsburg-Yorktown Daily and Port City Daily, and the local e-commerce platform 30 Off Local. Once the sale closes, Connoisseur Media will still own stations in two markets in the New York suburbs of Long Island, NY and Danbury, CT.
