'They should always be remembered:' Candlelight vigil held for Loranger victims
LORANGER - Tangipahoa Parish residents gathered for candlelight vigil in remembrance of mother Callie Jo Brunett and her 4-year-old daughter Erin. "How could this happen to her of all people? She was a great mother. She was a good friend to those who needed her. And it's sad that this happened right here in our community," family friend of the Brunetts, Jenafer Sheridan, said.
TPSO: Suspects sought in stolen puppy investigation
LORANGER (July 2, 2024) - The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) needs your help finding three stolen puppies as well as identifying and locating the two suspects accused of taking them from a home in the Loranger area. In the evening hours of Saturday, June 22, deputies responded to a home in the 17000 block of Highway 40 for a report of a theft in progress. Upon arrival, the homeowner reported that two white women had just pulled into his driveway in an unknown white vehicle, got out and took three German Shepherd puppies off of their leashes from his back porch. The theft was caught on home surveillance video. Sheriff Gerald Sticker encourages anyone with information about this theft, those responsible, or the whereabouts of the puppies, to contact Sgt. Jill Hutcheson in the Criminal Investigations Office at 985-748-3335. Horrific details emerge as Brunett killing suspect federally charged with kidnapping
NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The man accused of killing Callie Brunett and her 4-year-old daughter made his first appearance in federal court in New Orleans on Friday, June 28. Daniel Callihan, 36, appeared before a magistrate judge where he was formally charged with kidnapping and transportation of a victim across state lines, according to his attorney, Kerry Cuccia. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 12.

Prayer & candlelight vigil planned to honor Brunett mother & daughter
LORANGER — A community is coming together to honor a mother and daughter killed, allegedly at the hands of an ex-boyfriend and his friend. Daniel Callihan stands accused of killing Callie Brunett, 35, inside her Loranger home in Tangipahoa Parish on June 13, 2024 before kidnapping her two daughters, ages four and six. Her four-year-old daughter Erin was found killed a state over in Mississippi while the six-year-old was harmed but alive. Callihan’s friend Victoria Cox has also been arrested in connection to the crime spree, an investigation the FBI has now taken over.
