Louisiana Toddler Dies After Shooting Himself in the Face, Sheriff Says
HAMMOND, La. (AP) — A Louisiana toddler has died after accidentally shooting himself in the face, authorities said. The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office said police responded about 1 p.m. Wednesday to a home in Hammond where a 3-year-old boy had been shot. A parent immediately tried to help the child, as did paramedics when they arrived, but the toddler couldn’t be saved, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office reports that a Hammond 3-year-old has died following a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the face. Just after 1 p.m., a 911 call reported the incident at a home on Red Fox Drive in Hammond. It was reported that the 3-year-old boy had gotten a hold of a gun and accidentally shot himself in the face.
