TANNER, Ala. (WHNT) — This time of year, roadside firework stands are about a dime a dozen, and they’re all preparing for their biggest day of the year.
In Tanner, sales have already been steady at Next Gen Fireworks.
LIST: 2024 Fourth of July celebrations, fireworks displays being held across the Tennessee Valley “Sales have been going good,” said Youth Pastor and Stand Manager Brock Cubillo.
He told News 19 that the stand has a little something for everyone.
“We have our novelties, which are the ones that the kids like to play with, like snappers and sparklers,” he said. “We have Roman candles, and everybody loves Roman candles.”
Being able to open for business this year means a lot. Last year, the trailer was stolen just days before the July 4th holiday.
“We’re really grateful and thankful for the community for looking after us and helping us, giving us tips of where it could be at,” Cubillo told News 19. “It was actually from a tip that we got that that we found it out there.”

The firework stand is a fundraiser for Calvary Church’s youth ministry program.
“Everything we make goes to support the youth ministry, our kids ministry, VBS, any events that we put on,” Cubillo said. “Also one of our big things that we’re doing this year for our youth is any student who works a set amount of hours, they get their youth camp trip paid for in full.”
The stand is located in the parking lot of Calvary Church in Tanner off of Highway 20.
