    Five must visit water parks in Pennsylvania

    Waterparks are a great way to have fun with friends and family while cooling down in the heat of summer.

    Cool slides and rides for those seeking action, adventure and thrills are all the rage at the waterparks and so are the ever-popular lazy rivers and floats for those wanting to relax and soak up the sun with a some splish-splash and sandy beach spots.

    From floating tubes, slides, rafts and mats for kids of all ages, there are water fountain splash pads for the little wee ones and and swim up bars with cocktails and for the adults as well. Something for everyone.

    Indoor or outdoor options for waterparks offer a great opportunity for a planned vacation day - even if it's rainy or stormy outside - it'll still be sunny, clear and cool at the indoor waterpark.

    Camelbeach Outdoor Waterpark - Tannersville

    Located at the Camelback Resort in the Pocono Mountains, Camelbeach offers over 37 rides, slides and attractions, it is Pennsylvania's largest outdoor water park.

    Featuring a new Dinosaur Adventure with over 35 life-like dinosaurs for kids, or the High Noon Typhoon and Rival Racer for the less faint of heart, or tubing along on the calm and winding lazy river, there is something for everyone.

    Camelbeach also offers FlowRider sessions for surfers or lessons for wannabe surfers to enjoy. Blue Nile Adventure River, Dune Runner, and Kahoona Lagoon Wavepool are all cool options, but there is also Mummy's Oasis or Pharoh's Phortress with fountains and spray guns for the little ones too.

    This water-playground facility on the mountain also includes an indoor option, Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark for the best of either world on any day.

    Waldameer's Water World - Erie

    Waldameer's Water World offers loads of fun with over 16 great water attractions for all ages. From Wild River to Raging River to the Endless River, there is floating inner tube action at all speeds, twists and turns.

    The Rocket Blast is the largest attraction in Water World. Standing at an amazing 60ft tall and over 800ft long, it's a combination of water slide and roller coaster attraction, on a four-seater raft that weaves over, under and around Rally Racer, Raging River Bermuda Triangle and Awesome Twosome.

    Water World features a Heated Relaxing Pool and another Giant Heated Relaxing Pool and their Giant Wave Pool for those wanting to relax. And for the little tykes and kiddos there is the Kidz Zone with mini-slides and fountains for loads of fun.

    Water World is located within Waldemeer Park and Water World, in Erie, which also boasts an amusement park with over 36 rides.

    Sesame Place - Langhorne

    Located in the Philadelphia area, Sesame Place is completely dedicated to the Sesame Street television show and features an amusement park and waterpark, Sesame Summer Splash.

    Sesame Summer Splash is really geared for kids and families with water slides, such as Abby's Fairy Falls, Elmo's Silly Splashy Slides, Rosit'as Seaside Slides or Elmo's Surf 'n' Slide.

    The Count's Splash Castle, Bert and Ernie's Splashy Shores and Little Bird's Bay offer loads of themed fun and adventure made for the wee-little ones to enjoy with all their favorite characters.

    Wildwater Kingdom - Allentown

    Wildwater Kingdom, part of Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom, offers all the action-pack water rides with thrill levels ranges for everyone.

    For the really aggressive thrill seekers, there is the Python Plummet, where you stand in a 65 foot-tall structure of tubes with different turns and twists and plummet at 26 feet per second to the pool below. Similar high-thrill rides are the Patriot's Plunge and Snake Pit.

    The Aqua Racer is a park favorite and offers some competition for friends to challenge each other, sliding over 300 feet down the mountain on your mats across six lanes.

    Splash pads, fountains and lagoons are everywhere for the little ones, or winding lazy rivers such as Runaway River and Wildwater River for easy, relaxing rides.

    Kalahari Indoor Water Park - Pocono Manor

    Kalahari Resorts and Conventions is home to "America's largest indoor water park" boasting over 220,000 square feet of wet and wild rides and attractions.

    Filled with tubes and slides like the Anaconda, Barreling Baboon, Serangeti Safari Adventure, Screaming Hyena, Tanzanian Twister or The Smoke that Thunders, the screams and thrills are endless for adults and teens alike.

    For the little ones there is Tiko's watering Hole or Coral Cove among other wading pools and lazy rivers.

    And for the adult scene, there are swim-up bars for a cocktail, where you don't even have to get out of the water or indoor and outdoor spas for relaxing.

    Kalahari offers indoor and outdoor spas for adults that can swim between both, without getting out of the water.

    At a comfortable 84 degrees, it's always sunny and warm inside the waterpark, despite the outside weather.
