Clovis man sentenced for damage to jail
CURRY COUNTY, New Mexico (KVII) — A man from Clovis was sentenced to two years for an assault on a jail that happened on February 2, 2022. According to a Media Alert sent by the Ninth Judicial District Attorney's Office, Damon Martinez, 41, was one of "several inmates" involved in an incident at the Curry County Detention Center where inmates broke off a heavy-duty towel rack and used it to create a basketball-sized hole through the cinderblock that led to an air vent, providing roof accessibility.

NMSU Regents professor chosen for prestigious USDA fellowship
New Mexico State University Regents professor Cynthia Bejarano was among 32 faculty and staff that the United States Department of Agriculture welcomed to Washington, D.
