OLEAN, NY — Love-in-Action will meet on May 16 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Olean Public Library, 134 N. Second St., for dinner, conversation and meaningful action planning as an initial step for building a local movement for positive change.

The agenda for the evening, according to organizer Darlene Goetzman, begins with a process of choosing, as a group, action areas such as food justice, the environment, housing, "no-more-wars", media and other areas where the group sees the need to make a difference. Plans may be made for one to three community-wide learning events, including films, speakers, readings and study groups, with a focus on action from a nonviolent, change-making perspective.

The May 16 gathering is limited to 20 people to ensure enough room, food and time for everyone’s input. Two places remain as of May 9; a wait-list will be made.

People can register by stopping by the library's circulation desk or calling 716-372-0200. Questions can be directed to Goetzman by emailing darlene@blumenthals.com .
