HS Softball: Cliffside Park Defeats Hasbrouck Heights, 11-5

CLIFFSIDE PARK, NJ – Cliffside Park’s Mattingly Rodriguez had two hits and four runs batted in as the Red Raiders defeated Hasbrouck Heights, 11-5 in girls’ softball action on Thursday in Cliffside Park.  Hasbrouck Heights drops to 8-12 overall with the loss.

Cliffside Park jumped out to an early 5-0 lead off Hasbrouck Heights starter Madelyn Connelly in the second inning.  Hasbrouck Heights bounced back with three in the top of the third to get back into the game.

The Red Raiders added two more in the third to give themselves some breathing room.

Giuliana Terranova had two hits and three runs batted in for Hasbrouck Heights, while Mackenzie Riordan had two hits, scored two runs and stole four bases from the lead off spot. Haley Wixon had two hits, a walk and stole three bases.

Connelly allowed 11 runs, six earned, on 10 hits and four walks.  She struck out three.
