HS Track: Hasbrouck Heights' Napolitano Sets Record, Wins Bergen Meet of Champions

HACKENSACK, NJ – Hasbrouck Heights sophomore Michael Naplitano set a school record in winning the boys 100 meter dash at the Bergen County Meet of Champions, held Friday at Del Torre Stadium at Hackensack High School. In all, six Hasbrouck Heights runners set school records in their events.

Napolitano ran a 10.95 in the Finals of the 100 meters, after qualifying with an 11.12 time in the preliminaries.  Maliki Burrell’s time of 11.19 is listed as the second-fastest time on the Athletic.net website, which compiles high school sports information.

Alexandra Samperi finished second in the girls' 100 meters (while setting a school record), and third in the girls' long jump.  Elliot Eddy finished third in the girls shot put, fifth in the discus and 9th in the javelin.

Aidan Morrow finished second in the 3200 meters (while setting a school record) while Brady Shine finished second in the javelin.

Ellie Skhrelli (girls 100 meter hurdles) Mackenzie Bua (girls 1600 meters) and Lexi Powers (girls 3200 meters) also set school records during the meet.
