    Captains — And Entire Senior Class — Leave Their Mark For Lenape Girls Golf : Loyalty, consistently strong leadership skills including the ability to encourage others are just some of the attributes possessed by the three senior captains of the Lenape High School girls golf program this year-Jordan Broiles, Kaelyn Phillips and Sehyr Singh. “These three young ladies have not only been committed to this team and the program as a whole for the past four years, but they also exemplify everything that I and my assistant, want our golfers to be— classy young ladies with an appreciation and respect for what it means to be a positive leader,’’ Lenape head coach Andre’ Lopez said.

    Mt. Laurel Teen Among Prestigious Class of STEM Scholars : Mount Laurel's Adam Freedman recently graduated from the prestigious Governor’s STEM Scholars as one of only 123 New Jersey High School and college students who received a 360° view of New Jersey’s STEM economy through conferences, lab tours, and research. The program is a public-private partnership between the Research & Development Council of New Jersey, the Governor’s Office, New Jersey Department of Education, the New Jersey Office of the Secretary of Higher Education, and public and private research companies.

    Mt. Laurel Police Credited for Role in Investigation Into Burglaries of Asian Business Owners : The Mount Laurel Police Department (MLPD) has been credited by the U.S. Attorney's Office for its role in a federal investigation that led to the guilty plea and subsequent sentencing of a New Jersey man for a conspiracy to target Asian and Asian-American small business owners for burglaries. Kevin Jackson, 57, of Rahway, NJ previously pleaded guilty in Newark federal court to an information charging him with one count of conspiracy to commit interstate transportation of stolen property. He was sentenced on May 13 to 33 months in prison, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger announced.

    Mt. Laurel Police Remind Residents of Soliciting Ordinance Following Complaints : The Mount Laurel Police Department (MLPD) is alerting the public that officers are aware of a company that has been soliciting in a particular section of the Township. According to a statement by the MLPD released on Thursday, the Department has been alerted about a company that has been soliciting "multiple times in at least the Devonshire section of Mount Laurel Township." According to the MLPD, officers had already taken "enforcement action" as of Wednesday, May 15 at 5:53PM.

    Project Freedom Accepting Applications for New Roebling, Florence Housing Complex : Applications are now being accepted for individuals looking to secure barrier-free affordable housing through the non-profit organization Project Freedom at their newest location, “Freedom Village at Historic Roebling" in Florence. With construction rapidly moving along, the new 72-unit Project Freedom community is expected to open in December. Located at 2135 Route 130 and Hornberger Avenue in Florence, Freedom Village at Historic Roebling will include one, two, and three-bedroom apartments as well as a large community center in the middle of the complex for residents to enjoy.

    MLPD Seeks to Identify Walmart Shoplifting Suspect : The Mount Laurel Police Department (MLPD) is requesting the public's help in identifying an individual who is suspected of shoplifting from a Township store this week. MLPD patrol officers responded to Walmart, located on Route 73, on Monday, May 13 at about 9:24PM for a report of a shoplifting. According to the MLPD, a female suspect allegedly tried to leave Walmart without paying for about $830 worth of items. After being confronted while leaving the store, she fled the scene in a vehicle described as an older model green minivan with an unknown license plate.
