Softball: Middletown South Beats Matawan, 10-3

MIDDLETOWN, NJ -- Middletown South scoerd seven runs in the fifth and sixth innings to pull away for a 10-3 softball victory over Matawan on Monday.

Kathryn Martin, who hit two doubles, and Brooke Lisowski each had two hits and drove in four runs for Middletown South (11-8), which was tied with Matawan, 3-3, until the bottom of the fifth.

Riley Smith went 3-for-4 with two RBI and Ella Mullane had two hits and scored two runs for Middletown South. Smith pitched seven innings, allowed seven hits, struck out eight and was charged with three earned runs.
