Playing its best at the right time of the season, the Bloomfield High softball team was scheduled to begin play in the NJSIAA Tournament, on May 22, with a home game against Memorial of West New York, in a 4 p.m. start, at Clark's Pond

Head coach Rich Adams' team took a six-game winning streak into the state game, after two more wins to close out the regular season. Bloomfield improved to 16-9 on the season, by defeating Bard, on May 17, 13-3, then edging Westwood High, a day later, 13-11.

Rylie Fabrazzo continued her hot hitting when the Bengals defeated Bard. Fabrazzo, a senior, had three hits, including a double, and drove in two runs. Teagan Weber and Olivia Gonnella had two hits each, with Gonnella also hitting a double and driving in two. Giovia Deputato hit a double and drove in three runs.
