    New Providence Memorial Day Parade to Honor Fallen Heroes; Parade Program

    NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - The American Legion Post #433 and the Borough of New Providence are proud to announce the annual Memorial Day Parade program scheduled, rain or shine, for Monday, May 27, 2024.

    Members of the American Legion Post #433 extend a warm invitation to all organizations scheduled to march to join them. The event will commence with a solemn Memorial Service at Veterans Memorial Park on South Street at 9:00 AM, followed by the assembly of the parade at 9:30 AM on Central Avenue off Springfield Avenue.

    The opening ceremonies, scheduled for 9:45 AM, will feature a welcome address by Mayor Al Morgan, accompanied by a distinguished speaker from the National Guard at the Presbyterian Church. The parade, led by Grand Marshall Linda Kale, will kick off promptly at 10:00 AM.

    Memorial services will be held at the United Methodist Church at 10:10 AM and at the Presbyterian Church at 10:20 AM, featuring salutes to the fallen and renditions of TAPS.

    The parade will culminate at the Veterans Memorial adjacent to the New Providence Memorial Library, where a concluding service will take place, including speakers and a final salute to the fallen.

    All attendees are cordially invited to American Legion Post #433, located next to the NP Memorial Library, for food and refreshments as a gesture of appreciation for everyone's participation in honoring our war heroes.
