    North Salem Voters Approve School Budget, Fill Board of Ed Seats

    NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - Voters in the North Salem Central School District turned out on May 21, opting to approve the district’s 2024-25 budget of $50.5 million by a measure of 378 to 159 votes, according to unofficial results.

    Voters also approved a pair of propositions, including the use of 16-year bond to fund a $715,000 renovation of the water treatment plant at PQ and allowing the district to spend $513,016 through a five-year bond to replace buses and vans. The water treatment proposition passed by a measure of 429 to 106 and the transportation bond was approved by a tally of 381 to 156.

    According to unofficial results provided by the NSCSD, residents cast their votes for two open seats on the Board of Education and elected Elizabeth Bridges (Grob) and Elizabeth Malvino with 402 votes and 300 votes, respectively.

    Incumbent candidate Paul Giamundo received 276 votes.
