    Election Coverage: Public Invited to In-Person Neptune Township Committee Candidates Forum

    An in-person township committee candidates forum presented by the Shark River Property Owners Association (SRHPOA) will take place at the Shark River Hills Firehouse, 200 Brighton Ave., on Thursday, May 23 at 7 p.m.

    NEPTUNE TOWNSHIP, NJ — Neptune Township residents are invited to attend an in-person township committee candidates forum as the upcoming June 4th primary election approaches.

    The forum presented by the Shark River Property Owners Association (SRHPOA) will take place at the Shark River Hills Firehouse, 200 Brighton Ave., on Thursday, May 23 at 7 p.m.

    Township Committee candidates from both the Democrat and Republican Parties are invited to participate.

    The evening's moderator will be Cindy Nelson who is Vice President of the SRHPOA. Nelson is registered as an independent voter.

    To ensure a smooth and efficient candidate Q&A session, it is recommended that the public prepare their questions beforehand. Please keep your questions concise, limiting them to a few sentences.

    Two seats on the Township Council are up for election this November.

    Four Democrats and two Republicans have filed paperwork for placement on June's primary ballot.

    The Democratic candidates are (alphabetically) Bryan Acciani, Jason A. Jones, Kevin McMillan and Derel Stroud. The Republican candidates are (alphabetically) Jessica Ford and Rachel A. Stolte.

    Currently, Derel Stroud and Kevin McMillan are members of the Township Council and Derel Stroud and Jason A. Jones have the endorsement of the local Democratic organization, while Ford and Stolte have the endorsement of the local Republican organization.

    On or before June 4th, Neptune Township voters will have the opportunity to vote in New Jersey's 2024 Primary Election.
