Newton Boys Golf Team Wins Close Match Against Vernon to End the Season

NEWTON, NJ – The Newton High School boys golf team hosted Vernon on Monday, May 20 and won 165-169 in their final match of the season.

• 1st Cooper Armstrong with a 38
• 3rd CJ Nicholas with a 41
• 4th Bruno Groth with a 42 in a three-way tie
• 7th Nick Deiorio with a 44
• 8th Nick Kurilko with a 45 in a three-way tie
• 11th Caden Armstrong with a 52

“Bittersweet day for the Newton Golf Team,” Head Coach Bryan Bitondo said. “It was their last match at Newton Country Club. Your coach will miss you guys a ton. Thank you for all you did in helping to build our program. I am proud of you! Go Braves!”

The Newton High School boys golf team ended the season with a 13-8 overall record and an 8-0 NJAC-Colonial division record.
