BAYONNE, NJ -- Caitlin Gaetani pitched a two-hitter to lead Bayonne to a 4-0 softball victory over J.P. Stevens in the first round of the Section 2, Group 4 tournament on Wednesday.

Gaetani struck out 13 batters and walked three in seven innings.

Bayonne (23-5), which got only four hits against J.P. Stevens pitcher Vanessa Yim, scored three runs in the fourth inning, two on a home run by Sophia Diaz. That was the only extra-base hit for the Bees.

Bayonne, the top seed, will host ninth-seeded Ridge in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.
