    BRIDGEWATER, NJ -- Bridgewater-Raritan advanced in the first round of the North Jersey, Group 4 state tournament with a 17-3 boys lacrosse victory over Passaic Tech on Wednesday.

    Jack Cifuentes and Andrew Childs scored three goals apiece for Bridgewater-Raritan, which racked up eight goals in the first quarter and had a 10-2 lead at halftime.

    Declan Kurdyla led the Panthers in assists with four, and Brody Nussman and Daine Kostes had two goals and one assist apiece.

    Bridgewater-Raritan (10-5), the third seed, now awaits its opponent in the quarterfinal round next Thursday. It will either be Hunterdon Central or Morristown.
