Girls Lacrosse: Montclair Advances with Win Over Phillipsburg

PHILLIPSBURG, NJ - Aven Hodgson scored five goals and Olivia Nicoll and Liz Giordano tallied three time each to send fifth-seeded Montclair past No. 12 Phillipsburg High School, 16-5, in a NJSIAA North Jersey Group 4 first round girls lacrosse game on Wednesday.

Montclair (10-8) advances to play fourth-seeded Westfield in the quarterfinal round.

Avery Ritt scored two goals for the Stateliners and Jill Miller, Sarina Appezzato, and Sophia Remian each scored once. Avery Butler and Marissa Kozak each had an assist. P’burg finished the season with a 9-11 record.
