Chargers Upset by Manasquan in First Round of NJSIAA Central Jersey Group Two Tournament

SPOTSWOOD, NJ - The baseball season abruptly ended on Friday for the Chargers. Second-seeded Spotswood High School was upset by 15th-seeded Manasquan High School 6-3 in the first round of the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group Two Tournament on Friday. Manasquan moves on to the quarterfinal round to face 10th-seeded Point Pleasant Boro High School. Point Pleasant defeated seventh-seeded Ocean Township High School 3-1 to earn a quarterfinal spot.

Spotswood concludes the 2023-24 baseball season with a 19-4-2 overall record. The Chargers won the Greater Middlesex Conference Blue Division title for the second consecutive season. Spotswood was 11-1 against Blue Division teams. The Chargers and all the spring sports student/athletes will be recognized for their contributions at the annual spring sports banquet on Wednesday, June 5.
