Those wishing to do so can place a plaque at the tree by applying through the Department of Public Works at a location on a first-come, first-served basis. The fee for a tree and plaque dedication shall be $450.

The DPW will coordinate the preparation and installation of each tree and plaque. The size, species, style and material of the tree and plaque will also be determined by the city.

Applicants will be responsible for any trees or plaques to do vandalism or acts of mother nature.

This ordinance will be considered for final passage after a public hearing on June 11 at city hall, 8 p.m.
