CLINTON TOWN, NJ - Town of Clinton held their first ever National Night Out on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. The event was originally scheduled for August 6th, but was postponed due to inclement weather.

The Town of Clinton Police Department, Town of Clinton Fire Department, and South Branch Emergency Services were on hand along with the County Prosecutor’s Office and numerous local organizations. A band performed and free pizza, chicken skewers and ice cream were served.

Town of Clinton Police Chief Cory Kubinak was pleased with the number of residents participating. “This is something we’ve never done in the Town of Clinton. It’s nice to come out and bring the community and the police department together and bridge the gap that is sometimes between us.” South Branch Emergency Services Chief Frank Setnicky added “National Night Out gives the community a glimpse of what we do on a daily basis.”

Town of Clinton Councilmember Ross Traphagen organized the event in 24 hours when he learned Clinton Townahip canceled their event at North Hunterdon High School. “I’m thrilled I was able to coordinate the Town of Clinton’s first ever National Night Out. This event gives the community the opportunity to engage with our Police Officers in a family-friendly setting, along with our Fire Department and EMS. I’m honored to have been able to play a part in bringing our community together for this special event. Watching so many children explore a police car with an officer, or walk through a fire truck or ambulance with a volunteer firefighter or EMT, reminds me of why this is so important, and how lucky we are to call Clinton home with so many incredible dedicated first responders.”
