    Newton Boys Soccer Team Ready For 2024 Season

    NEWTON, NJ - The Newton High School boys soccer team, under the direction of Head Coach Brian Martin are ready for another season.

    Martin, starting his 20 th year with Newton has an overall record of 156-58-17, of which 9-9-2 was last year's record.

    “We are young,” Martin said. “We have a lot of players new to the varsity level. It will take time to acclimate to the demands of varsity, but I believe we will continue to grow and mature as the season progresses.”

    The team had five players graduate last year, including: Frankie Boffa, Evan Parker, Ryan Bezold, Alex Barradas, and Andrew Steinberf.

    “Our greatest strength is our coachability,” Martin said. “The players all have strong relationships and will always put the team first.”

    The Braves begin their 2024 season on Wednesday, September 4, with a home opener against Vernon beginning at 4 p.m.
