Fabio's in Fanwood to Welcome Tunnels to Towers Runners on Sept. 10

FANWOOD, NJ -- Fabio's Bistro (South Ave., Fanwood) will welcome the Old Town Track Club of Alexandria, Virginia, on Tuesday, Sept. 10, as the runners make their way across New Jersey and will arrive in Lower Manhattan on Sept. 11, 2024 for the Tunnels to Towers organization.

Members of the Old Town Run Club will run 262 miles, beginning on Sunday, Sept. 8, before arriving at Ground Zero on the morning of Sept. 11 -- with a stop at Fabio's along the way. The Old Town Run Club’s inaugural “Pentagon to Ground Zero Run for Resilience, Remembrance, and Unity” will take the runners from Virginia, through Washington, DC, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, before arriving in New York. Fabio's will serve as one of many rest stops for runners along the route on Sept. 10.

"They chose us for a resting location. So we just want to make it big for them when they come here," Kowalczyk added. "It's great for us and great for the town. Tunnels for Towers is a tremendous cause that we are proud to support.."

Since 9/11, the Tunnels to Towers Foundation has been helping America’s heroes by providing mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children. The organization also builds specially-adapted smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders. The Tunnels to Towers Foundation is also committed to eradicating veteran homelessness and helping America to never forget Sept. 11, 2001.
