CHATHAM, NJ -- Chatham Superintendent Michael LaSusa sent out a digital message to parents on Monday, with the first day of the 2024-2025 school year set to commence on Aug. 26.

LaSusa noted that the enrollment of 3,530 is slightly above last year's total and represents a diverse group that includes 500 students who live in a household where a language other than English is spoken. A total of 45 different languages are spoken among district students. The most common languages spoken other than English are Chinese (111 students) and Spanish (96 students). There are also at least 10 students who speak Arabic, French, Hindu, Korean, Persian, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish and Urdu.
