LIVINGSTON, NJ— Nearly one month after the Livingston Board of Education (LBOE) announced the appointment of former Livingston High School (LHS) Dean of Students Amro Mohammed as the new principal at LHS, the LBOE has approved the appointment of Brittany Gajewski, a teacher of psychology at LHS, as the new LHS Dean of Students.

In addition to teaching psychology at LHS for the past six years, Gajewski has served on multiple LHS committees and has written curriculum. Over the past two years, she has also been involved in the district’s equity initiative, serving as the high school’s Equity Coach and running Parent Equity Committee meetings. In addition, Gajewski has been an athletic coach for many years and completed her administrative internship at LHS.

“Brittany has been a trusted staff member at Livingston High School over the last six years, during which time she’s earned the trust of her colleagues as a teacher, equity coach and assistant coach for volleyball,” said Mohammed, who began his new position as principal immediately upon his appointment in July. “We look forward to welcoming her aboard and continuing to work towards achieving our building and district goals.”

Gajewski earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in secondary education and history with a minor degree in psychology from Rider University. She also holds a Master of Education degree in counseling psychology with a school counseling certification from Rutgers University as well as a Master of Arts degree in educational leadership with a supervisor and principal certification from St. Elizabeth’s University.

Prior to joining the staff of LHS, Gajewski was a social studies teacher at Pequannock Township High School and Watchung Hills Regional High School.

“Words cannot describe how honored I am to be selected as the new Dean of Students of Livingston High School,” said Gajewski. “I truly consider Livingston my second home, and I am grateful for the opportunities I have been afforded to learn, contribute, and grow. The support and guidance I have received from members of this community are unparalleled, and I look forward to serving the Livingston community in a different capacity.”
