PATERSON, NJ - The Paterson City Council has approved a proposal to request nearly $457,000 in state funds for a Clean Collection Project within the city's Urban Enterprise Zone (UEZ). This initiative aims to address littering and garbage issues by acquiring a new garbage truck and employing a dedicated cleaning team.

The approved proposal requests the funding from the New Jersey Urban Enterprise Zone Authority with the allocated funds used to purchase a garbage truck and hire a CDL driver along with two laborers, all of whom will work exclusively within the UEZ. The dedicated cleaning team will handle tasks such as emptying the recently installed solar-powered trash cans and addressing litter and illegal dumping throughout the UEZ area.
