MOUNT LAUREL, NJ — Road work on a portion of Elbo Lane that runs from Mount Laurel to Lumberton is scheduled to start this week, according to an announcement by Burlington County.

The work is part of Burlington County's road resurfacing program, in which a total of 36.7 miles of roads in 15 municipalities is expected to be resurfaced.

Pavement milling and overlay work on a 6.7-mile section of Elbo Lane, also known as County Route 612, will begin on Wednedsay, August 21. The work is being done from Church Street (Route 607) in Mount Laurel to Fostertown Road (route 636) in Lumberton.

The project is expected to take between 6 and 8 weeks to complete. While traffic will be maintained through the work area, drivers will likely experience delays and should seek an alternate route.

The work is being done by Black Rock Enterprises LLC, of Old Bridge.

“Burlington County is the largest county in New Jersey and has over 500 miles of County roads, 411 County bridges and 700 plus culverts. Maintaining this infrastructure is one of the important services our government performs,” said Burlington County Commissioner Tom Pullion, the liaison to the Department of Public Works. “Our repaving program ensures Burlington County has safe, quality roads and we are pleased to see that work is continuing.”
