OLEAN, NY — Art in the Quad, a reimagining of Art in the Park that had been hosted for decades by the Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled for Oct. 19 on the lawn of the downtown Olean JCC Cattaraugus County Campus.

Sponsored by SUNY Jamestown Community College and the Tri-County Arts Council, the event will be a juried fine arts show that carries on the longstanding tradition of showcasing the finest art in southwestern New York and northwestern Pennsylvania.

Art in the Quad will be free to attend and open to the public.

“We're bringing back a community event that used to be popular and was previously hosted on campus,” Amanda Hulbert, a success navigator and admissions coordinator at JCC who is also active in the local arts community, said in a press release.

A $15 jury fee is required for those wishing to participate in the juried competition. Fees for artists wishing to exhibit their work are $25 for students and $100 for professionals.

“Because we're going to be featuring student artists as well as local artists, students will be offered a discount for their exhibits,” Hulbert added.
