    Signs That School is Starting Soon in Millburn

    MILLBURN, NJ — New Staff Orientation week occurred this past week, and the Millburn High School cheerleaders welcomed the new teachers and staff members on Monday, August 19.

    MHS Principal Dr. William Miron hosted the annual Millburn bus tour on Friday, August 23.

    According to Nancy Dries, Coordinator for Communications & Community Outreach, the Millburn Library has prepared a back-to-school guide that’s available there. “The summer’s not over yet, but it never hurts to be prepared. Our guide is chock-full of excellent tips, tricks and resources for students of all ages,” she shared. It’s also available online at https://heyzine.com/flip-book/6b4fc911fe.html .

    On Wednesday, August 28 and Thursday, August 29, teachers and staff will attend professional development days. Labor Day is September 2, and the first day of school is September 3 — just a week and a half away.

    There is a Parent Wellness presentation  on September 5, presented by the same speaker who will speak to staff on August 28 at the opening convocation.

    There is also a farewell for Ken Frattini, and opportunity to meet the new interim principal, also on the 28t

    Coming up soon is the much anticipated Rocktoberfest , the Millburn Education Foundation’s (MEF) big fundraiser and lots of fun for the community. This is its eighth year, and 30 bands are booked. The date is September 14, rain date September 21. Click HERE for more information about the event, which will feature live music, fitness activities, children's entertainment, a beer garden and local vendors.

    Co-Founder Micole Cohen-Richter reported, “All proceeds from the event will benefit the Millburn Education Foundation , which has donated nearly $4 million in gifts and grants to benefit the eight Millburn public schools and continues to enhance the schools via its grant system.”
