DOYLESTOWN, PA—A band made up (mostly) of teachers from the Central Bucks School District will play at Doylestown’s Central Park for the Thompson Performing Arts Summer Concert Series on Wednesday, Aug. 28.

Class Act, which regularly plays weddings and other events in the tri-state area, was started by drummer and teacher Joel Chodoroff. Several band members are teachers, and some are former students of Chodoroff’s.

With a catalog of about 400 songs, Chodoroff says that Class Act’s set includes a broad range of music. At the Central Park show, people can expect to hear party anthems like “Dancing Queen” (Abba), “I Will Survive” (Gloria Gaynor) and “Brown Eyed Girl” (Van Morrison). “We are the definition of something for everybody,” Chodoroff told TAPinto Doylestown during an interview last year.

(For more on Class Act, see TAPinto Doylestown’s profile of the band.)

All shows are free and start at 7 p.m. at the C&N Amphitheater in Central Park at 425 Wells Road. A beer garden will open at 6 p.m. on show nights. Food trucks offering ice cream, water ice, pizza and other foods will also be at the concerts.

Township officials are warning that because of construction, parking near the amphitheater will be limited. Parking will be available in lots adjacent to the amphitheater and in the lot near the park exit.
