    Glen Rock Board of Education, Glen Rock Education Association Settle on 4-Year Contract

    GLEN ROCK, NJ - The Board of Education settled on a four-year contract with teachers which means a 3.6% increase in the first year and lesser increases through the fourth year, according to a press release from the district dated August 23.

    The contract is retroactive from July 1, 2024.

    The Board and the Glen Rock Education Association, the district's labor union, have been in negotiations since the winter, according to the press release.

    The agreement, active through June 2028, includes a 3.6% salary increase in year one, 3.5% increase in years two and three, and a 3.4% increase in year four. Co-curricular advisors’ and coaching salaries will increase 3% in year one and 2% in year two, with no increases in the third and fourth years.

    Dr. Damali Robinson, Glen Rock Board of Education president, said the board was pleased to announce the successful conclusion of negotiations with the GREA, “marked by a positive and collaborative atmosphere."

    “Both parties engaged in good faith discussions, resulting in an agreement that balances the needs of our dedicated staff with the careful stewardship of taxpayer resources," Robinson said. "We look forward to continuing our partnership with the GREA as we remain committed to providing the exceptional educational experience our students and community deserve.”

    Lisa Tomaselli, GREA president, said, “We love teaching the children of Glen Rock, and we love being able to support our families; this contract allows for that."

    “We are glad to have a four-year contract, because it allows for a longer period of stability between the BOE and the GREA," Tomaselli said. "The GREA consists of dedicated professionals who love what they do. Having a contract allows them to move forward with the GR BOE toward a singular goal of educating the students of this wonderful town. A special thank you to lead negotiator, Kathleen Walter, and the GREA negotiations team.”

    According to US News and World Report's national school ranking, Glen Rock Schools have fallen from 36 in 2022 and 39 in 2023 to 66 in 2024.
