UNION, NJ – The kitchen in the First Presbyterian Church of Connecticut Farms received a facelift recently thanks to the work of a Union boy scout from Troop 68 working to earn the rank of Eagle Scout.

Noah Moorman, 18, is a recent Union High School graduate.  He said his project consisted of removing items from the rumpus room kitchenette, painting the room, installing shelves, and replacing ceiling tiles.  “We’ve been at this church forever,” said Moorman.  “The Scouts have been here for over 100 years.  So it was good to give back and I really love this place.”

Moorman said scouting has helped him "develop into a man for his community and family".  He said he will continue working for the Union County Parks Department.

Moorman has held many leadership positions, including Quarter Master, Instructor, Patrol Leader, and Junior Assistant Scout Master.

During his time with the Scouts, Moorman received 27 Merit Badges, hiked 25 miles, spent 90 nights camping, and contributed 290 service hours.
