Fire Destroys Cab, Engine of Drilling Truck at Piscataway Rail Yard

PISCATAWAY, NJ – Fire engulfed the cab and engine of an industrial drilling truck being used at a Piscataway rail yard last week.

Firefighters from North Stelton, River Road, Possumtown, and Holmes Marshall fire companies responded to the scene on Baekeland Ave. where they used a specialized foam to help extinguish the flames.

No word on any injuries or the cause of the fire. The fire caused significant damage to the truck.

The rail yard is used by Kinkisharyo’s Eastern Rail Division which repairs and overhauls train cars and locomotives for transit systems across the country, including light rail cars for New Jersey Transit.
