    Local Mayors to Host Mental Health Symposium in September

    MORRIS PLAINS, NJ - Mayor Thomas 'Ace' Gallagher is one of several local Mayors that will be hosting a free seminar on Mental Health in September.

    The event will take place in Morris Plains this year on September 7th between 7pm and 9pm at the Morris Plains Borough School Auditorium at 500 Speedwell Avenue.

    The Mayors who are participating in the event are:

    • Mayor Jason Karr, Borough of Morris Plains
    • Mayor Thomas “Ace” Gallagher, Hanover Township
    • Mayor Joseph Pannullo, East Hanover Township
    • Mayor Mark Taylor, Borough of Florham Park
    • Mayor Tim Dougherty, Town of Morristown
    • Mayor Donna Guariglia, Morris Township
    • Mayor James Barberio, Township of Parsippany-Troy Hills

    In addition, Senator Joe Pennacchio and Assemblyman Brian Bergen will be participating along with Sheriff Jim Gannon and Commissioner Deputy Director Stephen Shaw.

    The symposium is geared towards concerned parents who may be worried about their teenager’s well-being middle or high school student facing difficulties with no clear path to help. It is also appropriate for family members worried about an aging parent or friend.

    This Free Mental Health Symposium offers valuable information about available free addiction services, education, and positive choices for struggling family members and/or friends in need, along with guidance on where to find assistance.
