RANDOLPH, NJ- The following statement was shared by the Randolph Township Schools Board of Education:

"Following a media letter to the editor about the upcoming referendum vote scheduled for Tuesday, September 17, 2024 , the Randolph Board of Education is compelled to respond and address statements that were made. Simply put, given the district’s 2% budget cap, the Board has been unable, within the confines of its budget, to fund some much needed and necessary capital projects.

Randolph is no different from the multitude of other school districts throughout this state that have reluctantly asked its taxpayers to pitch in for the benefit of the school community. Additionally, the referendum process is a method for costs to be shared with the State of NJ, and not funded solely by our residents. The Board views this as a win-win.

The learning environment for our students will be upgraded and brought to the standards for today and the foreseeable future, while the taxpayers will ensure that their property values continue to rise due, largely in part,  to our exceptional school district. Failure to maintain and upgrade them will simply postpone the inevitable work that needs to be done.

More comprehensive information and data regarding the referendum can be accessed on the district’s dedicated webpage."
