WARREN, NJ -- Are you ready for school to start? Warren Township Police are! Chief Robert Ferreiro said:

"As the new school year begins, I want to express my appreciation to the dedicated teachers and school staff of Warren Township District Schools, Watchung Hills Regional High School, Morris-Union Jointure Commission DLO School, and the early childhood centers located in Warren Township. Their commitment to our children's education and well-being is truly commendable. As a parent myself, I see firsthand the work that goes into delivering high-quality instruction ensuring the prosperity of future generations! Teaching is a noble profession, and we are fortunate to have such passionate individuals guiding our children. If you haven't thanked a teacher yet, make it a point to give them a shout! Let's also not forget the administrators, custodial staff, support staff, and buildings and grounds crew that worked diligently throughout the summer preparing for a safe return for our students. Thank you!

The safety of our students and staff remains one of my top priorities. The Warren Police Department has taken every precaution to ensure that every school in Warren Township receives the highest level of service from our local police officers. We are continuously working with other local, county, state, and federal partners to share and relay vital information.

Throughout the school year, residents, staff, and students will notice an increased police presence on and around school grounds. Members of the Warren PD command staff and Community Affairs and Traffic Team will also be making routine visits to schools, further reinforcing our commitment to safety and creating relationships with our school partners. This year, we are expanding our outreach programs designed to strengthen relationships between students, teachers, and law enforcement. A more connected community is a safer one! Be on the lookout for upcoming partnerships.

I would also like to remind all drivers to be extra vigilant as our children return to school this year. Please watch for children at school bus stops and strictly adhere to all traffic laws, especially in school zones. Your attentiveness on the roads is crucial in ensuring the safety of our children. Be sure to give yourself additional travel time, allowing the buses to get acclimated to their routes.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation. Together, we can make this school year a safe ano successful one."
