UPDATE: Drowning Victim from Chapin Road Pond Identified

MONTVILLE, NJ – Montville Township Police have identified the person pulled out of a Chapin Road pond on Sunday, Aug. 25, according to police Chief Andrew Caggiano.

Sixty-four-year-old Valeri Malov of Pine Brook was discovered deceased by police and fire personnel after his family reported him missing, Caggiano said. Malov told family members he was going fishing and had not returned.

Police officers located his fishing equipment on the shoreline and began a search of the area.
