LEWISBORO, N.Y. - The Westchester County Department of Health has issued a boil water advisory for all Lewisboro residents served by the Wild Oaks Water Company.

The advisory will remain in effect until at least Friday, Aug. 30, and until further notice as a precautionary measure due to a disinfection equipment failure at the water treatment facility.

Lewisboro Supervisor Tony Goncalves issued the following update on social media on Aug. 27:

“Currently, the water system has restored disinfection treatment and is back to normal operation. Liberty Utilities personnel will collect water samples throughout the water distribution system today and tomorrow to test for the presence of bacteria. Sample test results should be available within 18 hours of sample collection and submission to a NYS certified laboratory. Additionally, WCDOH staff will be collecting samples throughout the distribution system early tomorrow for testing. The advisory will be lifted once satisfactory water sample test results are obtained and accepted by this Department.
