Federal Inmate Takes Life at Hudson County Correctional Facility

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ - A federal inmate being held at the Hudson County Correctional Center in Kearny committed suicide earlier this week, officials confirmed to TAPinto.

Despite being on a suicide watch, the prisoner, a source who asked not to be identified said, hung himself with bedsheets in his jail cell.

The 27-year-old inmate was found during a routine security check, officials said, adding that despite receiving immediate medical attention he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Both the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office and the U.S. Department of Justice are investigating the incident.
