    Paterson Man Arrested for Highland Street Shooting

    PATERSON, NJ - Jioni Rosado, a 34-year-old resident of Paterson, was arrested on Wednesday in connection with a shooting that occurred on August 23, near Highland Street and Sparrow Street in Paterson, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes and Paterson Police Department Isa Abbassi announced.

    Rosado faces multiple charges, including Attempted Murder (first degree), Robbery (first degree), Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (first degree and second degree), Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose (second degree), and Certain Person Not to Possess a Weapon.

    According to a statement, the incident was reported to the Paterson Police Department at approximately 11:10 p.m. on August 23. Officers responding to the scene discovered a 31-year-old male from Paterson with non-fatal gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment, and police located a potential crime scene during their investigation.

    Following an investigation, Rosado was identified as the suspect responsible for the shooting. On August 28, at approximately 7:15 p.m., Rosado was apprehended by the Haledon Police Department without incident in the vicinity of Lee Avenue and Henry Street in Haledon.
