The district held its Leadership Education and Partnership (LEAP) District Administrators Conference from August 26-29, 2024, at Hackensack Middle School, according to a press release from the administration. The four-day event brought together more than 50 district leaders, including the superintendent, cabinet members, principals, assistant principals, and supervisors, to collaborate on key initiatives that will drive "Excellence in Education" throughout the 2024-2025 school year.

The conference provided a "robust" agenda designed to enhance leadership skills, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and ensure the district remains at the forefront of educational excellence. Topics covered included creating a culture shift, Instructional Leadership, the importance of data in decision-making, standard-based instruction and assessment, human resources protocols and best practices, artificial intelligence and its impact on teaching and learning, MAP Growth, HMH Curriculum, the Danielson Evaluation overview, programming and instruction for multilingual learners, and behavioral threat assessment and management training.

Additionally, attendees reviewed school safety drills with input from Hackensack Police to ensure the ongoing security of all students and staff.

In addition to professional development sessions, the conference provided a valuable opportunity for networking and building stronger partnerships across the district.

Wish I was aware of this. I spent & paid for 40 additional years going to training to work with administrators to enhance abilities to adjust to and prepare schools, students, leaders, and parents, and bring together community support, knowledge & input. My international mentor on supervisory leadership, thinking & problem-solving practices, asked me to represent him. As a Bloom, Hackensack is my life. WAYS TO PRESERVE & MAKE IT A LIGHTHOUSE, once more is imperative to me.
