    Police Searching for Missing Mahopac Boy

    MAHOPAC, N.Y. - Carmel police are searching for a 14-year-old Mahopac boy who they say went missing Friday evening (Aug. 30).

    Police said Jayden Myint left his family’s business at 403 Route 6 in Mahopac on Friday and has not been seen since.

    He was last seen wearing a black New York Rangers t-shirt, blue shorts, and black, white, and Navy Nike sneakers.

    “He was last seen on foot around Union Valley Road, and we are focusing our search in that area,” said Carmel Police Chief Anthony Hoffmann. “He does not have a cell phone on him that we are aware of.”

    Hoffmann said police are using their K-9 unit and their ultra-task vehicle (UTV) on the bike trail and the department’s drone with thermal imaging.

    "We’ve also had [the Putnam County’s Sheriff’s Office’s] bloodhound K9 assisting in the search,” the chief said. “We are currently also conducting a video canvass of local businesses, and we ask that businesses and residences in the area west of Jayden’s last known location on Route 6 across from Villa Barone check their footage from last evening.”
