    Summit Police Department Seeking School Crossing Guards

    SUMMIT, NJ – The City of Summit Police Department is seeking applicants for the position of School Crossing Guard to work at crossing posts near Summit public schools.

    Crossing guards will work two shifts per day, Monday through Friday, from 7:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. while school is in session. Uniforms and training will be provided by the Summit Police Department.

    School crossing guards are paid up to $50 each day. An incentive bonus is given to those with perfect attendance records for the school year. In the event of a snow day for Summit public schools, crossing guards will be paid provided they work the day before and after the snow day.

    Applicants must be at least 18 years old and provide their own transportation to crossing posts. Applications are available at the Summit Police Department located at 512 Springfield Avenue and on the city website . Applications should be submitted in person to the Summit Police Department.
