NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - This September, the New Providence Presbyterian Church will once again host its popular Fall Cemetery Tours, offering a unique opportunity to explore the history of New Providence. The guided tours are free and will depart from the church, located at 1307 Springfield Ave., at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, September 28, and October 5. Please note that registration is required for these tours.

In addition, two special tours will be held during the Union County Four Centuries in a Weekend event on Sunday, October 20, at 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Each tour will last approximately 45 minutes and will take visitors through the cemetery, highlighting the graves of founding families and Revolutionary War soldiers.

The tours are limited to 20 participants, so early registration is encouraged. To register and receive confirmation, please email NPcemeterytours@gmail.com with your name and the number of people attending. Participants are asked to meet 10 minutes before the start time on the sidewalk by the church parking lot. Due to the uneven ground, sturdy shoes are recommended.

This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with the rich history of New Providence and learn about the lives of those who shaped the community. Don’t miss out on this chance to delve into the past with these informative and engaging tours.
