Steven Turi Named to the Wood-Ridge Hall of Fame

WOOD-RIDGE, NJ – Steven Turi, a member of the class of 1988, will be inducted into the Wood-Ridge Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2024 at the Fiesta in Wood-Ridge on September 25.

As a junior, Turi led Wood-Ridge football to an 8-1 record in 1986, and was named to the Third Team All Bergen County team running back by the Bergen County Coaches Association.  He was named to the First Team in the BCSL-Olympic.  He finished fourth in Bergen County in scoring with 13 touchdowns, good for 78 points, including one in the Blue Devils' 24-8 win over Hasbrouck Heights.

Turi bounced back as a senior with another outstanding season, getting named to the Second Team All BCSL Olympic team as a running back.

He finished his career with over 1,900 yards rushing and 26 touchdowns for the Blue Devils.

Turi was also a BCSL Olympic selection in the javelin.

The Hall of Fame Dinner will be at 6:30pm at The Fiesta.  The cost is $90 per ticket. There will be a sit-down dinner and CASH bar for the event.
