NEW BRUNSWICK – Police are investigating after a man was shot in the shoulder following an argument early Monday morning.

Police responded to a report of a shooting incident outside the area of the Cancun Bar at 120 French St. at about 2:54 a.m., according to a statement from the New Brunswick Police Department.

Police said that an Edison man, 27, was shot following an argument with another person.

He was treated at a local hospital for injuries that were not considered life-threatening, according to police.

The police did not report any charges had been filed and the investigation is active and ongoing.
