    East Brunswick: September 11 Commemoration Vigil and 'Day of Service' Food Drive

    EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - On Wednesday, September 11 at 6:00 pm, residents are invited to join their join your friends and neighbors at the Municipal Complex as East Brunswick honors the victims of the tragic events of September 11, 2001 at the township's annual September 11 th Commemoration Observance .

    The community will gather with a candlelight vigil to remember the eight East Brunswick residents and all those who lost their lives on that tragic day.  The township will honor the heroic efforts of the thousands of first responders, rescue teams, and volunteers who selflessly assisted that day and all the days that followed.

    East Brunswick Mayor Brad Cohen and the Township Council will lead the observance, says a release from the Department of Recreation and Parks.

    The following East Brunswick residents lost their lives on September 11, 2001:

    Additionally, East Brunswick will coordinate a 9/11 Day of Service Food Drive in honor of the victims of the tragic events of September 11. All donations will be given to the Aldersgate Outreach Community Center in East Brunswick. The 9/11 Day of Service Food Drive will take place before the ceremony from 4:30 to 6:30 pm at the Municipal Complex. The township will collect  non-perishable food items, canned goods, peanut butter, diapers size 4 and up, and cleaning supplies. No glass containers, please.
