Plainfield Public Schools Unveil New Fitness Center at Plainfield High School

PLAINFIELD, NJ — On Tuesday, the Plainfield Public Schools held a ribbon cutting for a newly renovated fitness center at Plainfield High School. The last renovations of the fitness center, or weight room as it is often called, were completed in 2008.

The renovated fitness center features ten weight rooms and free weights, plyometric jump boxes, a stair master, a other fitness equipment. There is also a sound system, television, and Team Builder tablets that allow athletes to access personalized workout plans.

“ The center is designed to help students with their sports and fitness needs and has been updated with fresh paint and modern amenities to create an inspiring environment for physical development,” the Plainfield Public Schools said in a statement.

“We believe in providing our students with the best resources and opportunities to succeed," said Superintendent Rashon Hasan. "This newly renovated fitness center is just one example of our commitment to ensuring students have the tools they need to achieve their full potential. As we cut this ribbon today, let us remember that it is more than just a room filled with equipment. It is a place where dreams are shaped, goals are reached, and champions are made. On Wednesday, the district will host a ribbon cutting for a much larger project, the new track and field at the Hub Stine Sports Complex.
