    Chargers Take Down Abraham Clark Behind Three TDs by Se'Mir Tolbert-Brimage

    ROSELLE, NJ - After last week's season opening loss to Wood-Ridge, the Spotswood High School varsity football team bounced back with a 26-20 victory over Abraham Clark High School in a Friday Night Lights game. Quarterback Se'Mir Tolbert-Brimage ran for three touchdowns to help give the Chargers the team's first win of the 2024-25 season.

    Gavin Pereira got the Chargers on the scoreboard in the first quarter with a 28-yard field goal. Tolbert-Brimage later crossed into the endzone on a six-yard run for his first touchdown of the evening. Pereira connected on the extra point. In the second quarter, Tolbert-Brimage scored on a four-yard run. Pereira once again connected on the extra point. Then, Pereira put a 30-yard field goal through the cross bars for his second of the game. Spotswood rounded out its scoring in the fourth quarter when Tolbert-Brimage scored his third TD on a 33-yard run. The Chargers two-point attempt failed.

    Tolbert-Brimage finished the game with three touchdowns and 114-yards on 20 carries. In the air, he completed two passes for 30-yards. Vinny Young had two receptions in the game for a total of 30-yards. Sebastian Saracino had 18 carries for 57-yards. Ryan Foster had an interception for the Chargers.

    Spotswood's victory improves the Chargers early season record to 1-1. The Chargers are on the road again for another Friday Night Lights game on September 13. Spotswood travels to Kenilworth to take on David Brearley High School in a Big Central Freedom Gold matchup. Brearley is 0-1 this season. Kickoff is at 6 p.m.
